Vinegar and sweet-and-sour
Who said gluttony is only aroused by sweet food?
It has certainly been proven that our brain nags us for being fed with glucose-containing food, but we believe our sweet-and-sour shallots can be as satisfying as a slice of cake. If you love this taste you can’t live without it: sweet-and-sour shallots are the queens of home hors d’oeuvres, the improvised side that makes everyone happy, the appetising snack while waiting for dinner to be ready.
Serve it as an accompaniment to your aperitifs, in the summer or winter, with sweet and sparkling red wines, such as Bonarda or Lambrusco, together with some nice warm bread. You can warm up the shallots as well, to bring out all their rounded and enveloping flavour.
Serve them like that with grilled chicken breast, and to add flavour and zest to all dishes: the calorie count of shallots is low, although their flavour is satisfying even for those who need to watch their calorie intake. Get help from the right products to stay fit, but without foregoing flavour!
