Recipes with Borettane Onions
Our Boretta shallots are seasoned with Balsamic Vinegar from Modena, which is an IGP product, i.e. Protected Geographic Indication.
This choice stands for the quality we assure to our products. The flat, 100% Italian onions that are grown in the Veneto, Parma and Reggio Emilia areas and in other areas near Como. Their sweet and sour flavour adds to all meat dishes, such as a mixed grilled platter, but they are also delicious with an appetiser of crudités and vinaigrette, thanks to their fresh flavour and crunchiness, which go well with the sweet taste of raw carrots or peppers. Juicy, because preserved when freshly picked, they are also exceptional tossed in a pan and served next to a pork dish, such as loin or chops.
They whet your appetite thanks to the presence of balsamic vinegar, so they also serve the need for an improvised hors d’oeuvre well, even slightly warm, for a more aromatic flavour.
