Cerignola Olives

A traditional Italian hors d’oeuvre can’t do without them, nor can a home-made aperitif.

“Bella di Cerignola” olives, fleshy, crunchy, with their typical sweet and savoury flavour, are the most famous variety. They are the most popular table olives among Puglia olive varieties. They are especially large and therefore lend themselves especially well to an aperitif. The wonderful sun and climate of the Puglia region gives these olives their typical sweet flavour, which goes exceptionally well with a board of very savoury cheeses and with bitter aperitifs, such as a Campari Spritzer, for instance.

They are exceptional with goat cheese croutons, exactly because the olive’s sweet flavour offsets the acidic and strong taste of goat cheese: that is why we recommend preparing a fine board of mixed cheeses, with spicy and strong flavours, setting two nice little bowls of our whole Bella di Cerignola olives next to it, with a refreshing Hugo with ice.
